Samsung debuted its first 3nm chip, the Exynos 2500, last year with the Galaxy Z Flip 7. However, the chip could not showcase its true performance potential due to the compact form factor of the device. Now, the processor can finally show what it is capable of, thanks to the Galaxy S26 FE.
Exynos 2500 in the Galaxy S26 FE could perform much better than in the Galaxy Z Flip 7
The Galaxy S26 FE will debut later this year, using the Exynos 2500 chip and a traditional bar-style form factor. Geekbench's database reveals that the Exynos 2500 chip in the upcoming phone scores 2,426 points in single-core and 8,004 points in multi-core CPU performance benchmarks.
That makes it nearly 38% faster in single-core performance and 22% faster in multi-core performance compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
Due to the Galaxy Z Flip 7's clamshell foldable form factor and limited internal space, Samsung had to limit the performance of the Exynos 2500 to keep the phone from overheating. However, the company seems to have more thermal headroom with the upcoming Galaxy S26 FE, allowing the 3nm chip to showcase significantly faster performance.
Leaked Galaxy S26 FE features and specs
Previous reports indicate that the Galaxy S26 FE features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz variable refresh rate. It could also feature an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, stereo speakers, and an in-display fingerprint reader.
It has a 12MP selfie camera, a 50MP primary rear camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. It can record 4K 60fps videos using all its cameras and 8K 30fps videos using its primary rear camera.
The device is rumored to include 8GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB of internal storage, a 4,900mAh battery, and 45W fast charging. Other features could include GNSS, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port.
